Bowling for the first time

It's time for another Filipino Friday post! Only second week in a row, but that's at least a small progress consider I have failed to post weekly twice now. Heh. 😅 This will be another trowback to my trip to the Philippines which this time is to a rainy day.

The weather during my trip to Bicol was a bit dull but I didn't wanted it to stop me from having a good time with my family. On one of the most rainy days of my trip, I decided that we would go out to Legazpi City to have a nice time and bowl. In Sweden, it's very common that you go out with friends or family to play a set of game in bowling during weekends or for afterwork.

What I didn’t  know beforehand, was that my cousin Obot had never bowl before. He was super excited over this and had even made sure to put on a nice outfit for this occasion. It was a bit of a culture clash knowing that something as simple as go out for bowling can be such a huge thing for someone else. I'm happy though that I could experience this with my cousin.

It was a bit weird how the set up was though. In Sweden, we usually pay for an hour per lane but in The Philippines it was more common to pay for one game. It was a bit of shame because if you were too quick at playing, a game could only take 20 minutes and that amount of time is very short. I don't know how it is where you live, but I thought it was very strange.

That day, there was my 5 cousins, 2 cousin childs and I spending the day together. We bowl, played table tennis and went out to eat. I had lots of fun that day and we were having a lot of great laughs.  (null)

It was so funny how my cousin that had never bowl in his life before, was actually the one who won the game. Haha  (null)I love this photograph of my cousin's child. She's so adorable! First time I met her was back in 2011 and she was only a couple of years old. She was super shy and was ALWAYS hiding whenver I would take my camera out. But this time, she was much more confident and actually liked being photographed. Whenever I would take a photo of her, she would come over to see the result. As I'm more confident as well, we bond more now and she would call me "ate" (a word of courtesy for a girl/woman that is older than you) and hold my hand as we walk to different locations. I treasure these small things very dear and being able to bond with my relatives makes me warm in heart.

After a couple of hours of playing games we went to Graceland (which is a fast food chain in the Philippines) to eat. Where I ordered my regular Adobo dish. 😆

This post turned out to be a much longer post than I first thought, haha. But I hope you enjoyed seeing the photos and reading about my day.
Until next time, ingat!
